People write to express themselves, to clear their minds, because they have to make an A, because it’s their job to write, to tell their stories, and for an infinite amount of other reasons. I believe writing is a necessary evil and while I don’t write for personal enjoyment writing has become an important aspect of my life. I write to communicate. I’m a planner. I love making schedules and spend weeks looking for the perfect day planner at the beginning of each year. With that in mind, naturally, most of my writing consists of different means of communication. Most often, text messages full of writing necessary for planning trips, weekend excursions, meet ups for lunch, and to coordinate events. If my writing is not in text message form it is probably found hand written inside the pages of my journal. My journal is where I write down all of my prayers, thoughts, feelings, etcetera. The writing found here is yet another means of communication, I write to communicate with God through written prayer and with myself about what I am thinking and feeling. Much of my time is also dedicated to academic writing, writing that is graded for a class. This type of writing is me communicating to my professors my thoughts, experiences, ideas, research, or opinions on a given subject. Another area in my life that I find myself writing is on social media outlets. I love to communicate with my friends, family, and followers about what’s happening in my life or day, and talk to them about theirs through writing. While enjoying the act of writing is not something that comes easily to me, writing gives me the power to communicate with people in all areas of my life and that is why I continue to write.
